These Terms govern your use of Practice the Pause, a cybersecurity awareness training platform operated by Cooper Interactive. By accessing or using the platform, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the platform.


1. The Service

Practice the Pause provides online cybersecurity awareness training, including self-paced modules, scenario-based quizzes, and an AI-powered phishing simulation environment. We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time. We'll try to give reasonable notice for significant changes.

2. Accounts

To access training content, you need an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, contact us immediately.

Organizations that purchase team access must designate an administrator who is responsible for managing users and ensuring members comply with these Terms.

3. Acceptable Use

You may use Practice the Pause only for lawful purposes and in keeping with these Terms.

You agree not to:

  • Share your account credentials with others or allow unauthorized access
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, scrape, or extract the platform's content or code
  • Use the platform in any way that could harm, disrupt, or overload our systems
  • Use the training content or phishing scenarios for any purpose other than legitimate security awareness training
  • Represent yourself as affiliated with Practice the Pause or Cooper Interactive without authorization
  • Use the platform to harass, deceive, or harm any person

4. Intellectual Property

All content on Practice the Pause, including modules, scenarios, P.A.U.S.E. framework materials, copy, and graphics, is owned by Cooper Interactive or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, resell, or create derivative works from this content without written permission.

Organizations with active subscriptions may use the content for internal training purposes only.

5. Subscriptions and Billing

Paid plans are billed as described at the time of purchase. All fees are non-refundable unless stated otherwise at the time of sale or required by applicable law.

We reserve the right to update pricing with reasonable advance notice. If payment fails, your access may be suspended until the outstanding balance is resolved.

6. Completion Certificates

Practice the Pause issues completion certificates based on module completion and quiz performance. These certificates reflect training participation. They do not constitute professional certifications or accreditations unless specifically stated in the relevant program description.

7. Disclaimers

The training content on Practice the Pause is for educational purposes. It does not constitute legal, compliance, or security consulting advice. While we work hard to keep the content accurate and current, the cybersecurity threat landscape changes quickly. We make no guarantees about the completeness or accuracy of the training materials.

The platform is provided "as is." We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cooper Interactive is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or security incidents that occur despite completing training.

Our total liability for any claim related to the platform will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or use the platform in a way that harms others or the service. You may cancel your account at any time. Upon termination, your access to the platform ends. How we handle your data after termination is covered in our Privacy Policy.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved in the applicable courts of competent jurisdiction. Nothing in this section limits your rights under local consumer protection laws that cannot be waived by agreement.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the platform. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
